About Melanie

Welcome to my world!

I have spent most of my adult life changing my “inner” world so my “outer” world changes. It is my spiritual practice to live the most authentic life possible.

I have a passion for truly witnessing people. I love to help people dive deep…to excavate and find their pearls and treasures within. To assist in accessing the parts that they can not see or that has been covered up by so many things. To clear out the old and hold the space for others to shine and make their souls visible.

I have mastered and want to share the art of how to turn your wounds into wisdom and transform with ease. To dive deep with a feeling of lightness and to live in open hearted magic and joy.

As I sat down to write this page, I asked myself “what do I want people to know about me?” I want you to know WHY I do what I do.

And the simple answer is…

MelanieBrotherBy nature I have always been a truth seeker, an adventurer, a growth seeking being with a deep desire to live my life expressed through my most authentic self possible. And, I have always had an ability/passion in helping others bring forth and nurture the best in themselves.

My Dad told me that when I was 3 years old and my brother was born, he instantly thought I would be a nurse because I was so nurturing and could “sense” all of his needs. This ability to sense others needs naturally became my way of life at a very young age.

It has been a natural part of me ~ just the way I am in the world. I love people and I love to really KNOW them. I love helping people live their lives to the fullest.

familyPhotoMelanieI was conceived by young parents who were still in high school & was born during a Category 4 Hurricane which I came to realize later on in life, set me up for a lot of traumatic experiences (physical/emotional) & affected how I showed up in the world.

I had my first “accident/injury” when I was 8 years old & suffered many more in my life causing a lot of pain in my body.

I have been fascinated with the mind/body connection since I was 14 years old.

It wasn’t until I experienced a health issue in my early 30’s that I began my intense and profound journey of healing my body and soul. I had a “deeper awakening” and a “gut” inner sense that my dis-ease was more of an emotional component that manifested physically. I saw what was keeping me from living my own life fully and holding me back from really shining my light & living my soul’s purpose.

I was on my own soul’s healing journey when I realized that I have a passion & gift in helping other people uncover & excavate what is holding them back from their soul’s purpose & sharing THEIR gifts in the world. (My late husband once told me he thought I would be an excellent detective!) I also saw how I could put the pieces of the puzzle together by releasing what no longer serves us energetically. Still honoring that part of us and our story. That once witnessed & released, using that experience as rocket fuel in sharing our gift with the world.

I see myself as someone who has always had an interest in the body & emotions & how to move the energy.

I also have a deep respect and love of science. I have a Master’s Degree in Movement Science from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Communicative Disorders from the University of Central Florida.

Once upon a time I was a physiologist and lecturer at the Pritikin Longevity Center in Miami where I specialized in Lifestyle Management facilitation. It is here where I gained a solid foundation in how the emotions affect the physical body and cause dis-ease. I trained some of the wealthiest people in the world, and I learned that no amount of money could buy our health.

This is where I came up with the name of my business “The Wealth of Health, Inc.” which I created in 1990 as a result of my experience at Pritikin.

I later became the Director of Fitness for Bethesda Memorial Hospital’s Wellness Facility and managed the Fitness Department. This included Phase III Cardiac Rehabilitation as well as the Intern Program with Pratt Whitney. I learned about the Holistic approach to health and saw how important it was to take care of ALL aspects of ourselves: *emotional *physical *mental *spiritual

Next I moved into the complementary approach of healing.

In addition to being an Intuitive Energy Healer, I became a USUI Third Degree Reiki Master. I pursued this in 1995 as it was one of the only well known “energy” healing modalities at the time.

I studied extensively at The Upledger Institute (internationally recognized as the foremost clinical & educational resource center for the following healing modalities). I specialized in CranioSacral Therapy, BioAquatic Therapy and Somato Emotional Release (SER) (working with the emotions in the body..my passion!)

I also specialized in Pediatrics and was a Teaching Assistant, co-treating with Dr. John Upledger. I focused my healing work with pregnant women and attended many births using my skills to rebalance mothers and babies postpartum. This helped to release any restrictions from the birth experience thus significantly reducing fear and trauma for mom & baby.

As I mentioned earlier, I was born during a Category 4 Hurricane and had quite a traumatic birth experience/imprint that impacted my life on a deep level. My mom had to “hold me back” from being born in a car by crossing her legs and when we arrived at the hospital my head “was crowning” but they still administered drugs. I had been claustrophobic as a young child and disliked flying until I cleared my birth trauma.

I was fascinated by all the ways my birth experience affected my soul’s path and life experiences.

I focused my healing work with pregnant women and attended many births as I wanted to be of service to these new souls so they could start their life out playing full out!

I used my skills to rebalance mothers and babies postpartum, thus helping them to release any restrictions from the birth experience and significantly reducing fear and trauma for mom & baby.

I feel if I would have had that opportunity I may have been a different person…making different choices, not holding myself back.

And that is what I want for others!

This is one of the reasons why I do what I do. I guide others in turning their wounds into wisdom so they can live without restrictions and realign with their soul’s purpose.
